Q : When is the best time to visit?
A : Generally the best pictures are captured between 28 and 32 weeks. The baby's gender can usually be determined by the 18th week of pregnancy. Mother's expecting twins should visit around 27 weeks, since twins have less space.

Q : Can this session be billed to my insurance?
A : No, your session while extremely beneficial is NOT a medical diagnostic ultrasound. No measurements of your baby will be taken and no evaluation of baby's or mother's anatomy for abnormalities will be performed.

Q : Do I need a note from my Doctor?
A : No, you do not need a note from your doctor. Although, we do require that you are receiving prenatal care at this time. We encourage you to discuss your intentions with your current OB doctor.

Q : Is this session safe?
A : Ultrasound technology has been the subject of hundreds of clinical studies over the past 30 years and has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Although the possibility exist that biological effects may be identified in the future, data indicates that the benefits to patients outweigh the risk, if any, that may be presented. We urge you to speak to your doctor about the safety of ultrasound.

Q : Do I need to drink a lot of water?
A : It is recommended that you remain hydrated during your pregnancy. When you are well hydrated there is more amniotic fluid in the womb. We have found that this creates better pictures of your baby.
